Light

In the framework of a lighting design or assessment, the simulation is an important tool to analyse specific buildings or rooms. Simulations can calculate the distribution of daylight or artificial light, and examinate them with regard to possible optimizations. The priority in this case is the user's comfort, which, inter alia, can be enhanced by a balanced daylight distribution in the built environment, absence of glare and a good visual connection with the exterior. At the same time, a good daylight planning can lead to potential savings in regard to artificial lighting and air conditioning.

A qualified natural and artificial light evaluation is an essential component within a building certification according to the DGNB.
